Norfolk LTA Club of the Year 2021!
Welcome to Cringleford Tennis Club. If you are looking for a friendly and social place to play tennis in attractive surroundings then look no further. We have four floodlight hard courts and two grass courts with free floodlight tennis until 31st March 2022! We cater for all standards of tennis, both for adults and juniors. For adult members there is everything from morning and evening club tennis sessions, through to having thirteen teams competing in a selection of leagues in both the summer and winter.
The introduction of an Online Court Booking system has been a great success, with the courts being booked in excess of 350 times each month.
Due to loss of play during lockdown, our membership year has been extended to 30th June 2021. Members must read and follow our Covid 19 Guidance webpage and the LTA’s Guidance for Tennis Players before attending the club.
The club is run by a committee of volunteers who are working very hard in these challenging times so that members are able to continue to play tennis whilst meeting the ever changing LTA guidelines.
A full programme of social tennis events for 2021 has been published based on dates in the Government’s Roadmap; Sunday mixed doubles american style tournaments, Davis Cup style team tournaments and also the S&P Summer knockout tournament culminating in our end of year finals day in September.
The club launched Box leagues for Ladies and Men last autumn to provide players the opportunity to meet and play doubles tennis. These have proved popular, with new boxes having just been launched involving 62 members. Another new initiative, Mixed Boxes, to follow shortly.
Fingers crossed that we will be able to hold our fast and furious Beetle Drive in the autumn, enjoy a glass of mulled wine and mince pie before Christmas and look forward to the return of our annual Chilli and Quiz evening next March.
We are delighted to have Katie Brooks, Development Coach of the Year for 2021, heading coaching at the club. Since September 2019, Katie has grown our junior coaching programme, introduced an adults Improver’s course as well as providing coaching for individuals. Katie has been incredibly busy since the new year planning coaching for the coming months.
