Box Leagues

Offering new and existing members the chance to play men’s and mixed doubles against different pairings. Box leagues are suitable for players of all standards as there are boxes of different levels.

Men’s Box Leagues

Box Leagues are not running during the summer due to the large number of league matches.

The scoring is on an individual basis, with the top two men being promoted and the bottom two being relegated.

The matches have been drawn within the box. As it would not be possible to play all the combinations, it has been limited to 6 matches with each player having to play 3. The matches have been drawn so that each man plays with 3 other pairings in the box. The matches can be played in any order.

Please note the matches will comprise of 20 games, changing end after every 4 games. All the games will have to be played.

Unplayed matches will be awarded either as a draw, 10 games all, or a walkover with the unavailable/injured player scoring 4 games and the other 3 players scoring 12 games. This decision will be made by the organisers. Reasons for awarding a walk over would be injury or continued unavailability.  A draw would be decided if no one was responsible for the match not being played.

Please remember to email your scores after each match to Hugh Gilmour.
